You probably already know about, or you’re just heard of, decluttering. It’s believed that it can increase the energy in your home and bring you some changes. This is definitely true. You will find countless of times how people’s lives changes once they get rid of clutter. However, stress levels are always high when it comes to throwing old things away so people usually give up on this. People also tend to struggle with this since they have no organizing system and no idea how to get started.
Feng Shui and Decluttering
What can you get rid of immediately?
You can start filling your donation bag right now. If you’re still thinking about some item that you already packed, just get it. Go to a donation bank and donate everything the next day immediately. Also, contact your friends and ask them if they want something from your donation bag, a piece of clothes, or anything literally. Remind them to make a decision in just a day or two or you won’t be able to experience the benefits of clearing the clutter.
Check every room
Take a look around the next time you’re at your dining table. Search for anything that is even slightly out of place. You bought an item only because it was on a sale? Someone gave something to you but you definitely don’t want it? Now it’s the right time to double-check if you want to keep those things. If the answer is no and it comes to your mind without much thinking, definitely put that item in a donation bag. Do this step in every single room in your house.
Get rid of photos, gifts, furniture, and art that have bad memories
We all, unfortunately, keep remembering bad stuff all the time. For example, you hanged your graduation day photo with your dad. However, you always remember that your mom couldn’t make it to your graduation day since she had to be in the office. Get rid of that photo! Even if you still like the photo, you will always have some bad feelings towards it since your mom wasn’t there. We are what we think. We are our thoughts. So we should try to get rid of those bad ones.
Your home should be positive and welcoming
Remove nagging furniture, photos, and objects. Remove that pressure cooker that never gets turned on while it still takes a lot of space, remove your exercise bike since you never use it, and that toolbox is there in your kitchen cabinet only because your dad gave it to you and wanted you to use it. Right? These objects are only telling you that you’re not as handy as your dad is or that you are not in an excellent shape.
Only keep objects you use
If you’re not using an object, just get rid of it. Your energy will become overwhelmed by the energy of unused objects. For example, you don’t use your pregnancy clothes anymore. Just give those clothes to someone who needs it at the moment.
