Have you have ever wanted to make gravy but made something that left no drippings?   You don’t want to use canned or jar gravy? Using leaner cuts of meat, grilling, or other cooking preparations usually means you won’t have much fat for making a gravy.  Have no fear, you can still create a delicious, and rich gravy to complete your meal. I  have a flavorful and easy recipe that makes beef gravy or chicken gravy without using leftover drippings. (If you do have drippings you can prepare it the same way using drippings in place of butter or oil for an even better flavor).

How to Make Gravy

You will need:

  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. butter/oil
  • 2 cups beef /chicken stock
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • ½ tsp. Onion powder
  • ½  tsp. Garlic powder

Directions:

Melt butter in a small pan over medium heat, slowly whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until flour has a nutty aroma, watch carefully to avoid burning.

Stir in pepper, onion and garlic powder.

Add beef/chicken stock ¼ cup at a time and bring to a boil.

Boil for 8-10 minutes until mixture begins to thicken, stirring frequently.
