It is now then end of AUGUST!!!
Time to update the list we have…and see how we did this summer.
I have taken over Miss Sarah’s Daisy Troop…
(I know, in my spare time, LOL)
I had planned with the girls.
“what should we do today” moments.
We knew there was NO WAY we would get everything on the list done in the 10-12
week window of summer vacation !!!
Just like meal planning –
some ideas can roll onto the NEXT list if they don’t actually happen on THIS list.|
Some things are a definitely happening item and some a “fillers”.
So here was our list:
*Make “Fairies in a Jar” – saving this one for a fall sleepover
*swimming – pool is ready – started enjoying it too!
*make Popsicles (I shared my recipe list in the recipe section!)
*library and bookstore reading programs (I blogged about this HERE)
*Tupperware Team Memorial Day Picnic – DONE!
*Going to the Dells – not going to happen. I know we will do the Kalihari in January though..
*A Princess Birthday Party for Miss Sarah – a hit!
*Going to the Voss’s cabin with my in-laws – reservation DONE!
*Daisy Field trip to Video Rental Place and Culver’s – they get FREE rentals for their report cards and FREE ice cream at Culver’s!
*crafting (an ongoing process)
*Church Drive In Movie Night – missed it
*taking Miss Sarah to Florida to see Aunt Brenda and Uncle Sam – with a visit to Disney! Done – VERY fun!
*make homemade ice cream (I got a machine free from TW a few years ago and we didn’t use it ONCE last summer and found a pretty cool recipe for SnickerDoodle Ice Cream to try!!)
*homemade bubbles with dish soap and white corn syrup
*Daisy Pool Party!- it was fun!
*Upgrade from Toddler Swing Set to Wooden Play Structure One (done early! – just need to sand/stain)

*Tupperware Team Pool Party – I had WAAAAY too many hot dogs!
*Bake and take cookies to our church’s Homeless Support Group
*Daisy Camp Out in our backyard (with Mom’s!)- think S’mores in the fire pit – nature scavenger hunt and more! – this weekend!
*A few events from the Local Parks and Rec Guide for Miss Sarah – Friday is the last one
*Visit the local county fair- did it and had a booth at it
*a few family cookouts/pool parties. We will have no more pool parties as Grammie and Grumpie sold the house with the AWESOME pool and are moving to an even more amazing house on 8 gorgeous acres of land. More on their new house later.
*Another packing of “blessing bags” for the Homeless Ministry- made an 18 gallon tote full!
*4th of July parade
*Concerts on the square (free) – missed it this year.
*Crafty Kids thru the library – it was today!
* A few citywide garage sales for bargains to dress Miss Sarah
*Go to the zoo – done, but we will go again!
*Visiting our Children’s Museum – didn’t happen
*Picking Cherries – today!
*Make Homemade Jam
*Checking out the blooming lilacs at the McKay Center in Madison – done!
*Visiting the Madison Farmer’s Market – 9/1 is our last chance for this!
*Attending the free Kid Workshops at the Home Depot the 1st Saturday of the month – didn’t hit one single one this summer, LOL!
and still had a few things left for another time.
Fall brings school, the return of Sunday School, ballet lessons and piano lessons, meetings twice a month with the Daisy troop and possibly, gymnastics. Toss in a few sleep overs with gal pals, and the holidays and we should have a very full schedule.
