Back to School time is almost here and soon, we will be sending our munchkins off with their little lunchboxes in their hands. I don’t know about you, but I love to have school treats packed for them to enjoy when they are just starting to miss home. I guarantee you that these ABC Rice Krispy School Treat gems will make them think of you and be the envious hit of the class.
This uses store bough ingredients to start you off so you technically are not making something for scratch to take in — that is a no-no for most school districts. It also makes 6, so you might want to triple our quadruple the batch.
You will need:
- 6 Rice Krispy treats, unwrapped
- 1/4 C oil
- 1 bag of black melting chocolate
- 1 tub of yellow cookie icing
- 1 tub of white cookie icing
- 1 cookie sheet fitted with wax paper
- double boiler
Add water into the bottom pot of the double boiler. A.d the chocolate into the top pot of the double boiler and stir until melted, Add the oil and stir until fully mixed. This thins the candy melts.
Dip the flat part of the rice krispy treat into the chocolate. Use a butter knife to smooth out the chocolate. Place onto the wax paper and let harden the candy coating harden.
Use the yellow cookie icing to outline the rice krispy treat. Let dry for 10 minutes before the next step. Using the white cookie icing, pipe on “ABC” or “1+2+3” Let dry for another 10 minutes before enjoying!
