As Miss Sarah gets older, she is involved in more things and has me running her all over. I still love to make fun treats, I just find myself short on time and need quick solutions like these super easy to make bat Twinkies!
You start with store bought ingredients and the process goes quickly. The final result? 4 super cute Bat Twinkies!
You will need:
- 1 box of chocolate Twinkies
- 1 bag of Ghirardelli melting milk chocolate
- 1 cookie sheet fitted with wax paper
- 1 package of small edible eyes
- 1 disposable piping bag
Unwrap the Twinkies and place onto the cookie sheet
Place into the freezer for 10 minutes
Using a double boiler, melt the chocolate and stir until smooth
Dip the frozen Twinkie into the melted milk chocolate and fully coat
Once all have been fully coated with the chocolate set aside
Place two edible eyes onto the top part of the Twinkie for the eyes
Scoop the rest of the melted chocolate into the piping bag and cut a small part of the tip
On a bare part of the cookie sheet, pipe out 8 ‘wings’ for the bats
Place cookie sheet into the fridge for 20 minutes so that chocolate can harden
Once the 20 minutes is up, lightly peel of the wings and insert them into the sides, creating your bat!
