I remember Miss Sarah’s first birthday, like it was yesterday. It’s true what they say – it goes quickly! I was crazy busy that summer, still helping my Mother sort out her late husband’s estate, and I had to “cheat” instead of make the birthday cakes I always had made for family members. I got a small, round cake, that had polka dots on it from a local grocery store and spent more than what it would have cost me to get 10 boxes of Betty Crocker cake mix! I don’t know why I spent that money, LOL, she didn’t know what to do with it and it tasted pretty awful.
Thanks to Betty Crocker, it’s EASY to make those “Smash Cakes” that kiddos get on their first birthdays…3 simple steps and you are ready for those camera moments! You can see their vast library of ideas HERE. I peeked through them and still love the Polka Dots…but you should check them out for yourself!
Do yourself a favor — save a bunch of money and whip one up yourself — you won’t be sorry!
