I have always had freckles and, at almost fifty, I would like continue thinking that is what I have on my hands and arms. The dreaded truth is that they are age spots. Age spots can also be called solar lentigines or liver spots. They are small dark areas on your skin, ranging on your face, hands and other body parts. You can develop age spots from of course aging as well as spending a lot of time in the sun. When you spend a lot of time in the sun, it increases the production of cells, and increases melanin in the skin, which causes your skin to darken.
I have gathered a list of natural remedies for age spots for you to try out as well. These are a natural alternative to creams or lotions that you can buy and apply. These contain no chemicals that can be harsh on your skin! Lessen the appearance of your age spots today! These solutions take time, and within a few weeks you will start to notice your age spots are not as prevalent.
How to Clear Up Your Age Spots Naturally
Squeeze a fresh lemon, and apply the juice to you age spots with a soft cloth. Do this once in the morning and once before bed. Let the juice stand on the skin for 15 minutes, and then you can rinse with warm water. The lemon juice has an acidic agent, that helps remove dead cells from the skin, and will naturally lighten up those dark spots.
Dip a cotton ball or soft cloth in buttermilk and apply the cotton ball to your skin. Let it stand for around 10-15 minutes than rinse with warm water. Repeat this daily, to help reduce the age spot. Buttermilk has lactic acid, it help restore and revive your skin, and will diminish the appearance of age spots. If you want, you can even add a cup of buttermilk to a warm bath and soak in it, to help replenish your skin.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Apply apple cider vinegar to your skin and allow it to stand for 20 minutes, and than rinse off with warm water. This can dry your skin out some, so maybe rotate between other solutions. Apple cider vinegar contains alpha hydroxy acids, and it is great for lessening the appearance of your age spots. If you have pretty sensitive skin, dilute the vinegar before applying to the skin.
Put those dandelions growing in your yard to good use. Pull the heads off the dandelions, and rub the sap that seeps out onto your age spot. Do this up to two times a day, and let it set for five minutes and then rinse off. Works wonderfully!
Grab a green papaya and cut off a thin slice and hold it fleshy side down on your age spot. Let it stand for around 30 minutes on your age spot. Than rinse with warm water. Papaya is a super powerful fruit, it contains hydroxy acid and enzymes that are great for your skin. They work well at adding radiance to the skin and reducing the color of your age spots.

Summertime can really be hard on your feet. You might wear sandals or flip flops often, and it can help dry out your feet, leaving them feel dry and cracked! I have laid in bed and went to rub my feet together, and it felt like sandpaper. That is not a good feeling, and if you have ever been in that situation you might benefit from this tip! Below is how to use essential oils for dry cracked heels! It is a great way to soothe your feet and get them feeling nice and smooth in no time!
Follow this step by step method, and you will find that your feet are feeling refreshed! Repeat as needed to keep your feet feeling silky soft all year round!
Essential Oils to Fix Dry Cracked Heels
- First you need to fill a tub or basin with some warm water. Then toss in some Epsom salt (follow directions as to how much to use as listed on package) and 5 drops of peppermint oil and 2 drops of Eucalyptus oil. Soak your feet for around 15-20 minutes.
- Take your feet out of the bath and dry them well.
- Once feet are dry take your foot scraper and gently work over areas that have a buildup of skin. Scrape the skin until the skin feels smooth. If the spot is tender, than don’t rub on it, because it could irritate it more.
- Next apply essential oils to your feet, to help even more. I will list that below.
Peppermint Oil: Peppermint oil is great for adding nourishment to the skin. The menthol can create a soothing effect to your skin!
Eucalyptus Oil: This is great for killing any viruses and bacteria that could be lingering on your feet. Sometimes cracked heels are caused by bacteria.
Foot Treatment and Essential Oil
In the morning and evening apply 3-5 drops of peppermint oil topically, with Virgin Coconut Oil, and wear socks. This will help heal up and add moisture into your feet! You need to be consistent with this, or it will not fully heal up. If you feel that you have any bacteria, add a drop or two of Eucalyptus as well the Peppermint oil, and it will work even better!

Growing your own fruits and vegetables can be beneficial to your family in countless ways, here I am going to address just a couple of those benefits…
We all know that adding more fruits and vegetables to our diets is crucial for maintaining health. Fruits and vegetables are both packed full of vitamins and nutrients. Vegetables especially are great because many are high in fiber and can leave you feeling fuller longer, causing less snacking and leading to less runs through the drive through for fast food.
If you have space for a garden, I say get to planting! Growing your own produce can be a great way to save money! You can buy an entire pack of seeds for less than $1.00. That $1 investment can lead to a season’s worth of that particular plant. Zucchini is one such plant. I’ve never had a zucchini plant not produce extensively throughout the gardening season.
There is the added expense of fertilizer and water, but depending on the size of your garden, those costs can be relatively minimal. (You can buy a bag of chicken manure fertilizer at walmart for about $4).
It Tastes Better!
Growing your own produce produces vegetables and fruits that are much higher quality. I have never heard anyone claim that store bought produce tastes better than fresh grown.
You know what you are getting!
When you buy produce at your local supermarket, the fact is that you have no idea where it has come from. Okay, so technically you can look at at the little sticker that tells you the country of origin, but the reality is that you have no idea how the produce was grown or what kind of chemicals or pesticides were used in the growing process. Plus, if you have any qualms about the labor used in picking your fruits and vegetables, there is simply no way of knowing this either, which is bothersome to many.
Planting a garden and growing your own produce may seem like hard work, but it really is a lot of fun and a great family activity. The entire process from digging in the dirt to planting to watching your crop grow is exciting to kids! For them to plant a seed, nurture and water it and then watch it sprout is a wonderful learning experience. Plus, there comes comes a sense of pride.
So, in short, growing your own produce is a fun, easy way to eat healthy, local food that will save you money!
Over time, most people fall into what is referred to as their comfort zone. In other words, you are satisfied with where you are in life and you don’t want to do anything that might upset things. It’s hard to get out of your comfort zone but you miss out on a lot of good opportunities if you don’t. One way to make this difficult task a little easier is by making it fun.
Here are three fun ways to get out of your comfort zone and move forward in life:
- Spend more time with friends that do the things you want to do outside of your comfort zone. It’s easier to take that leap and do things you’re uncomfortable with when you have a friend or two helping you out.
- Make it a challenge or competition. Find a friend or family member that’s settled into a comfortable routine and challenge them to see who can step out of their comfort zone first. Friendly competitions are a lot of fun and very motivational.
- Think about what you could gain by stepping outside of your comfort zone. When you stop focusing on the fear and start thinking about what you could gain by pushing yourself a little harder, you’ll gain a whole new perspective on things.
Discovering that you can do more and enjoy things that you once thought was out of reach will be life changing. When you step out of your comfort zone, you’ll discover there is a whole new world just waiting for you to make that first move and these tips can help. You’ll be happier and feel more accomplished than ever before.
