When I was offered the opportunity to work with Chef to review one of their unbeatable, high-quality products, of course I jumped at the opportunity. I love whipping up meals in the kitchen just as much as the next person, so, being able to add a kitchen gadget to my collection. For my review I was sent one of Chef’s Choice Professional Meat Grinder.
WHY would someone want a meat grinder? One word: Recalls. Just as recently as November 1st, All American Meats recalled over 165,000 pounds of ground beef over E Coli issues. On October 26th, CT Firm recalled assorted meat from Listeria Contamination. October 20th, more ground beef with E coli, not to mention a ton of canned seafood with Botulism.
I haven’t even mentioned the “fillers” added like Pink Slime, etc to make our meat go further.
Simply put: If you have your own meat grinder, you can rest assured that your meat is the way you want it. You KNOW what goes into it! You can buy a beef chuck roast (when they are on sale) and pretty quickly turn it into ground chuck yourself! A decent grinder can take a 3-4 pound roast and process it in a minute or two — so you are not spending hours and hours doing this — because I know that was what you were thinking, LOL! It was one of my first thoughts too and then, I remembered working at a restaurant in college that ground all their own “hamburger” meat.
Commercial quality, this electric meat grinder is able to handle meat with ease. With its advanced high-torque motor and metal gear-driven system, the Chef’s Choice Professional meat grinder can grind up to 3 1/2 lbs per minute. The precision interchangeable plates allow you to make your favorite meat products, including meats like sausages, bratwursts, chorizo and much more! Each grinding plate is specially designed for different types of meat, so, your 3mm is used for your lean meats, 4.5mm for ground hamburger, venison and chicken/pork and 8.0mm for salami, corned beef hash and more; there’s a plate for just about every type of meat dish you’ve been craving.
Additional benefits of the Chef’s Choice Professional Meat Grinder include but aren’t limited to:
- Grinds meat that is lean, preservative free and seasoned exactly how you like them.
- Commercial quality engineering and cast-iron construction.
- Large capacity, die-cast metal hopper to quickly process beef, pork, poultry, etc.
- You control fat content, ingredients and seasoning.
- 3-way control switch for grinding, stuffing and reverse.
- Integrated handle for easy transport.
- Re-settable motor overload protection.
- Plastic pusher doubles as storage for grinding plates.
