I talk about being polite, thinking of others, etc in my Coupon Clipping 101 class (for those of you who haven’t seen it).
Heinz kicked off a Facebook promotion today: a $2/1 coupon for their ketchup. Needless to say, it was limited prints to 57,000 and was gone in about two hours.
You should read the posts left on their “wall” from people who didn’t get in on it!
Here are a few that simply shocked me:
*****Very sad you don’t give the people who are not home in the middle of the afternoon a chance for the coupon 🙁 I’ve always been a heinz fan but not so sure after this if a lot of your customers were ignored.
*****Wow, the working people deserve access to your coupons as well. One would think you get a better response and better marketing results if you target these coupons during the peak usage time in the evenings for the US. My family uses this product as well. I have started purchasing the brand that costs less with the coupons. I guess my next bottle will not be Heinz since I did not get a coupon either:(
*****why do you always do the coupons while people are at work so only the people who don’t work get all the deals it totally sucks. Need to get on welfare like everyone else.
*****Seriously? You can’t offer a coupon for more than 1-2 hours? What about all the hard working people out there who spend their hard-earned minimum wage paycheck on your product? What about all the people who spend their unemployment check on your product? Everyone should be able to get a coupon, not just those who happened to be at the right place at the right time. I think your corporation makes enough money. Shame on you Heinz. Dislike.
It just blows my mind how many people can be SOOO ungrateful or SOOO rude!
A manufacturer does NOT have to put out a coupon!
This was a $114,000 promotion that they offered for a 2-3 hour window. (57,000 prints of the $2 coupon). They just spent $38,000 an hour to advertise!
Be friendly coupon ladies and, when we miss a promotion, say THANK YOU for the offer and how you hope to be able to earn it the next time……
(OK, off my soap box).
