One simple and fun thing to do with the kiddos at this time of year is to read a holiday book to them!
The Night Before Christmas, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, A Very Charlie Brown Christmas, and more!
We have collected 20 such books and have them all wrapped, like presents. They go in a basket and are placed under the Christmas Tree. Each night, Miss Sarah picks one out of the basket and unwraps it — and that is the book we read that night.
It’s kind of like an Advent Calendar that you don’t get a sugar high from, LOL!
How many holiday books do you currently have? Start with them and wrap them up. Next year, keep an eye out at garage sales, thrift shops, Freecycle, etc and add to your collection.
