These Disneyland hacks to save you money are perfect for making your upcoming vacation spectacular. From saving money on food and tickets, to those pesky souvenirs this list has it all. Every family that wants a great vacation at Disney can use these tips to make it even more affordable.
Disneyland Hacks That Save You Money
Take water bottles.
There are water fountains everywhere in park, and a water bottle can easily be refilled at no charge. We prefer the collapsible water bottles that can easily be rolled up and tucked into a pocket. If you don’t mind waiting in line, most concessions areas in the park will give you a cup of water for free.
While Disneyland doesn’t want you to bring in coolers (except on designated days), you can pack a few simple snacks in your bag to help you get through the day. We usually include crackers, trail mix or granola bars. For younger kids or toddlers those simple fruit and veggie puffs are a great choice to have on hand for safe snacking while out and about in the park.
In Disneyland you’ll find meals fairly expensive compared to what you would find out of park. However, you must consider that many of the restaurants are truly fine dining cuisine. Those that aren’t fine dining, are specialty restaurants. To save on costs, check out places you can eat that will give you options that are easy to split with your spouse or kids. Pizza, sandwiches, burgers and more can be slit between two people for half the cost. Skip the sides and drink water for even more savings.
Buy souvenirs outside the park.
There are a multitude of great souvenirs in park, but the price can be a bit much. Buy souvenirs outside the park for your kids to have and enjoy. Key chains, magnets, dress up clothing and more can be found everywhere from your local Walmart to the Dollar Tree stores nearby.
Don’t buy park hopper passes.
If you are going to be at Disneyland for more than one day, your multi-day passes are good for both Disneyland and California Adventure. However, with a park hopper upgrade, you can go to either park on the same day. Without the upgrade, whatever park you visit is the park you will have to stay in that day. Without the park hopper, you cannot go back and forth to the different parks on the same day. We recommend the 4-5 day passes that allow you to pick which park you enter each day. Most people will prefer one park over the other. Spend your first two days at each park and make a decision if you want to continue in one or the other the rest of your time.
These Disneyland hacks to save you money are easy to implement and can easily save you hundreds over the course of a week in the park. Disneyland has so much to offer your family with great rides, fun times, music and of course amazing memories that will last a lifetime.
