I have talked about it before – cooking once, eating twice: making a double batch of food and putting half into the freezer right away. I have also mentioned buying the big meat deal of the week and making it into several different kinds of meals – like taking ground beef and making burgers, meatballs, meatloaf, etc.
It is SOOOO much healthier to make and freeze your own meals instead of buying them already made up!
In the past, I have done the big cooking days, where I made SEVERAL different meals for the freezer. It’s a great concept for those busy times in your life like company visiting, new babies arriving and so much more… to have a meal ready to go – just pop out and bake off!
This book is a GREAT start for you, if you are new to the concept — The Everything Meals For A Month Cookbook: 300 Smart Recipes To Help You Plan Ahead, Save Time, And Stay On Budget.
It helps break it down into different categories, covers basic freezer preparation and planning and lets you make just a few recipes or a large selection at a time.
Features family-friendly recipes such as:
-Cranberry Oatmeal Quick Bread
-Santa Fe Chicken Soup
-Curried Turkey Casserole
-Apple Glazed Pork Roast
-Shrimp Pesto Linguine
-German Chocolate Pound Cake
This is just a one of my favorites – what books do YOU like?
