This yummy sweet treat is perfect on those cold winter mornings when it fills the nooks and crannies on that toasted English Muffin or on your fresh waffle!
My recipe is simple. It’s easy. Your crock pot does most of the work. (Yippee!)
You need 5# of Pears. My favorite kind?
Bosc, Anjou, whatever. As long as it is on sale.
You also want them SOFT. Not moldy, but a few sweet spots (brown) are OK. What you see in the picture are still NOT ready for this recipe. You need to wait a few more days. **Keep in mind that pears are on the dirty dozen list so, unless you know they are organic, you want to peel them.
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
Now, stir it quick and let it rip on low for 24 hours… the last hour with the lid off.
