Visit the UW Geology Museum

Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. Great for those like my daughter who want to be a Paleontologist!

Spring is EARLY this year and that means the flowering trees are too!
Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE).
Waisman Center Children’s Theatre- GoonGOO Peas African
Sundays per schedule…NOT an event every weekend!
Shows take place in the Friends of the Waisman Center Auditorium at 1500 Highland Ave, off of University Ave near the UW Hospital. Admission to these short, family-friendly performances are usually just $2 for adults and $1 for children, thanks to sponsorship from American Girl Fund for Children.
Rhythm, drumming, dancing and more with the GoonGoo Peas African drumming group. (show at 1:15 p.m.) Craft projects and a parade too! RAIN of SHINE. (Events move indoors in inclement weather)
