This is a S-I-M-P-L-E, easy ham salad recipe to make with several variations.
You can use one pound of ham (like I normally do) , ring baloney or even hot dogs. You can use sweet or dill pickles. You can use mayonnaise or salad dressing. Each subtle change makes for a slight difference in flavor.
This is great on crackers, bread or even buns — you can also use the mix to stuff mushroom caps before you bake them!
- 1 pound ham
- 8 oz sharp cheddar
- 1 jar (I prefer Milwaukee) dill pickles
- Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
Start with the ham…
Pop it int your food processor and grind it coarsely.
Do the same with the cheese…
and the pickles!
Stir it all together…
Stop here if you want to use it to stuff mushroom caps!
Stir in Mayo or Miracle Whip to desired consistency if you want to make the sandwich spread. It’s great on crackers too!
