Losing five pounds in a month may seem like a challenge, but it’s possible to get there. There are a number of easy steps you can take to reach your goal. Here are some tips on how to lose five pounds this month.
Stop drinking your calories
Although soda, tea, and juice may all be refreshing beverages, they’re empty calories. You could easily be adding an extra 200 calories or more onto your daily total just by having one beverage a day. Drinking water only is your best option if your goal is to lose weight.
Keep a food journal
If you’re not keeping a daily food log, you may not even realize how many calories you’re consuming. There are a lot of apps online to track your calorie intake with, such as MyFitnessPal.
Watch your sodium intake
Sodium can cause water weight gain. You may think that you’re not consuming too much sodium as long as you’re not eating fast food or junk food, but even seemingly healthy prepackaged foods can be high in sodium. Be sure to read labels.
Start working out
If you’re not already working out, now is a good time to begin a new routine. You’ll burn the most calories with aerobic exercise, such as walking, jogging, swimming, or dancing. Aim for at least 45 minutes a day, five times a week.
These are just a few of the things you can do to lose five pounds this month. A well-balanced diet and workout plan can help you meet your weight loss goals.
