Children of all ages need activities that keep them engaged and learning. Having a project they can do with their hands and have something to be proud of at the end is a wonderful feeling. Maybe what I’m saying sounds like an art project, but what if I told you that it could be a completely creative STEM project? STEM activities aren’t just science. They are a comprehensive way to experience multiple subject matters in a single sitting. Howtoons has taken this notion and created several STEM kits that promote critical thinking and exploration.
Each Howtoons box contains all the materials you’ll need to complete your project. Literally everything as you can see in the picture above. Even all the tools like the scissors! To me, that is like the golden phrase: Batteries are included.
The instructions are designed to guide you through the steps and to promote creative problem solving. The coolest part of a Howtoons box is the included comic book. You may be asking why they’d include a comic book – well that’s the beauty of this all encompassing STEM kit. Howtoons wanted to include visual storytelling to further help children understand some of the more complex concepts found in the kit. No two children learn exactly the same way, so why put a single focus on one way to do things?
What I love most about Howtoons is that you can either subscribe to the monthly subscription box to get a new project for your child each month or you can purchase single kits and books. The single kits have some of their most popular projects like constructing a ukulele from cardboard, marshmallow rocket shooter, and more! You can also purchase the Howtoons books separately as well. Another fun addition to their online store are the Class Kits that are great for elementary aged or early middle school children. There’s enough materials to cover a class of approximately 16 students for these projects.
Keep promoting STEM education and creativity. These are not mutually exclusive concepts and thanks to Howtoons you can really dive into a project to learn about science, technology, art, engineering, and math! All you have to be willing to do is use your brains and your hands!
