We have all been there — that time when you took junior out of the library kicking and screaming. That time you were trying to pick your darling up off the floor in the cereal aisle of the grocery store. Ever been on a family dinner night out and had to apologize for food thrown away from the table?
Wouldn’t it be nice if our children were delivered along with a manual? There would be no second guessing that baby’s cry, terrible twos tantrums or that call from school because there was a fight. We would practically see what they were going to do just before it happened and know the magic answer to correct the behavior.
Finally, we have one! A system that has been proven to work with children in classrooms across the country.
I am sure most parents would love to eliminate those mid afternoon melt downs, public displays of tired tantrums or where the big fit or tears comes out to play, and usually at the worst time! This is why I am so excited to be an Ambassador for Feeling Buddies! Feeling Buddies For Families is a self-regulation toolkit for families. I will go more into detail about HOW it works later, but it helps eliminate all those stressful parenting moments with kids who are frustrated with their feelings.
Some of the Feeling Buddies kit contents are jumping out at me as I gear up my preparation – like the Quick Start Guide! I LOVE not having to dig through a mountain of materials to just figure out where to begin! It has you start with the exclusive video coaching sessions from Dr. Bailey to explain each part of the toolkit. The colorful, easy to follow chart, easily one guides down the path to teaching their kids to self regulate their behavior. Finally, the Managing Emotional Mayhem book. The 168 page guide is to help adults work with the Feeling Buddies System in five simple steps. I flipped through it and was impressed! I have always believed in keeping things simple as you catch them doing something positive, and there seems to be a healthy does of both included.
I can’t wait to dig into this program more and share my thoughts on how I think it could work miracles! I encourage you to check it out and play along with me.
