Moon Over Monona Terrace combines the talents of the Madison Astronomical Society (MAS) with the striking views from the Monona Terrace Rooftop, topped off with crossed fingers for a crystal clear Madison evening! Young and old alike are invited to view celestial objects through a multitude of different telescopes. The evening will begin with moon viewing only, and will progress to different objects as the sky darkens.
Enjoy free games and activities presented by UW Space Place and Monona Terrace. Fun for the whole family!
MAS members will present two presentations for the public highlighting the moon’s surface, and common fall constellations. These presentations will take place on the rooftop gardens alongside the telescopes.
In the case of inclement weather, please call 608.261.4000 after 4 p.m. the day of the event for cancellation information.
