If you ever wanted to make sushi — but hated making the rice, or have tried making the perfect sticky rice and messed it up — this is for you!
Their Slice of Rice™ comes in flat sheets — individually packaged — and is super easy to use!
Now… here is the good part! It is good stuff:
- No Cane Sugars
- Organic Vinegar
- Low Sodium
- No preservatives
- No High Fructose corn syrup
- No MSG
- California sourced rice
- Easy to roll
- Great for using your leftovers – no food waste
You will soon see it popping up in the freezer section of your grocery stores — as it is a NEW product coming on the market. You can leave it in the freezer, or pop it into the fridge if you plan to use it in the next 7 days.
Now, we are not huge sushi fans (I worked at a Japanese restaurant in college and OD’d) so I tried a dessert treat. Peanut butter s’mores came to mind — and Miss Sarah LOVED it!
Peanut Butter S’mores Sushi
- (1) Slice of Rice™ sheet
- 2 TBSP creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
Start with your Slice of Rice™ sheet…you cut 3 sides of the wrap
Then you peel it off the rice
Now there are two sides to product; one is pocked marked and one is smooth. The pocked mark side always faces the Nori…or, if you are making an inside out roll like I did (rice on the outside) place the pocked mark side up.
Now, spread peanut butter liberally on the rice
Add mini chocolate chips
Roll it up!
**Tip** Put your rolling mat inside a zippy bag to keep the rice from sticking to it when you roll.Slice your roll in to 6 equal pieces and dust the tops with crushed graham cracker crumbs.
This was SO easy to do … and made for a very fun after school snack for Miss Sarah. Tomorrow, we are going to make “Rice Custard Sushi Rolls”.
Now, I know what you are thinking: “How can I get MY hands on this cool stuff?”
Stalk them so you know where and when you can find it near you!
