Peppermint Candy Oreo Pops
These are easier to make than you think, and are SO IMPRESSIVE when presented in a small bouquet — perfect for that Oreo Lovin’ person on your gift list.
Ingredients & Supplies:
- Oreo Cookies (Double Stuf seem to work best)
- Lollipop sticks
- White Chocolate Candy Melts
- Prepared royal icing (colored red and white)
- Piping bag, insert, and #2 & #4 round tip
- Clear sugar sprinkles
Carefully remove the top cookie from the filling. Gently insert the stick into filling of each cookie, making sure it is set but do not press too hard or the cookie will break. Replace the top cookie and stand upright until all cookies are complete. Freeze cookies for 10-15 minutes to help set the stick (this will also help the candy melt harden faster).
Melt Candy Melt according to package instructions. Carefully spoon melted candy over each cookie, covering all sides and edges. Return cookies to cup and once all are complete, return to freezer or refrigerator.
When your candy melt has completely hardened let them stand at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to allow condensation to evaporate.
With the white royal icing and a #2 tip, pipe the peppermint pattern onto each cookie. Allow the white icing to dry before moving on to the next step.
With a #4 round tip, pipe the red in between the pattern created with the white icing. While the red icing is still wet, sprinkle with the white sugar crystals.
