It was the Empire’s ultimate weapon, a space station the size of a moon; one capable of destroying an entire planet. The Death Star. Any Star Wars fan will tell you all about it.
You could suggest they tell you more…over a snack of milk and (these) cookies, maybe?
Thankfully, these Death Star Oreo treats aren’t capable of anything other than impressing your family and friends! The silver decorating spray adds a very nice touch, kicking it up a notch on the “you did this??!!” scale. Of course if you wear an apron and dramatically, slowly wipe your brow, they’ll never guess how fun and easy these are to make!
You will need:
1 package of mint double stuffed oreos
2 Bags of white chocolate ghiradelli melting wafers
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
2 C powder sugar
1 can of silver cake decorating spray
1 disposable piping bag fitted with a number 2 tip
1 cookie sheet fitted with parchment paper
Directions:
Using a double boiler, melt the white chocolate melting wafers
Using a fork, dip in the oreos until fully coated
Place oreos onto a cookie sheet and let dry for an hour
While oreos are drying, using a standing mixer, combine egg whites, cream of tartar, and powder sugar and mix on medium speed until stiff peaks form about 7 minutes
Scoop the icing into a piping bag
