I told you that I was going to the Marshall City Wide Garage Sale and had $40 in my pocket.
I grabbed a copy of the map right away…and was a tad disappointed that there
didn’t seem to be much on it — but scoped out a few – which weren’t open on Thursday!!!!
SO…….I just followed the signs and went for it.
You will understand when you see the following pictures – everything came to $31.
Seriously. I only hit four sales and some of the items I got for a STEAL,
just for the intent of reselling them at the local children’s resale event, for a nice profit.
First – the Tinkerbell Costume – never worn and $1 – perfect to take to Disney and let
her wear at Magic Kingdom! Three pairs of Princess dress up shoes @$.25
For $1 each: two Twilight books, 1 scrapbooking tote, 2 pairs ballet slippers,
1 bag DMC floss and DVD. Most clothes were just $.50: in this picture was a sweater,
dance sweatshirt, 4 jumpers and a knit Gymboree outfit.
Also for $.50: the Apple Scrabble, uber cool picture frame,
Barbie tent, Teridactyl beanie, Princess magnet set
(for keeping her busy on our trips this summer),
princess ornament and goofy cupcake guys.
The flower petal soap and bath beads were from the FREE box
and I splurged on the Narnia book collection – he was $5
More clothes – and I can’t tell you the prices as they took the tags off.
Bottom line: TWO holiday dresses, several short sets for next summer,
some matching jean/tee shirt sets, denim jumpers,
A few dresses that I scored for just $.50 EACH. (not pictured)
These will be marked $5 to $8 EACH for the sale this fall.
That will be at least a $60 profit on over a dozen dresses!
That is it — my official haul for this weekend.
Next week I won’t be hitting the sales: It’s my scrabooking weekend!!
I could take the $9 left over this week, add it to the $13.25 that I didn’t spend LAST week
and add it to my $40 budget for next time!
That gives me $62.25 for the first weekend in June,
which will probably be my last foray into Garage Sales this summer…
Keep in mind that I am only going out FOUR times this summer.
(much to my husband’s relief)
It’s simply too busy to squeeze in more than that…and we are pretty well stocked.
I only have a few things left on my list.
Winter Coat, more jeans, a few DVDs and a few Brain Quests.
