Having babies is so gross. Seriously.
I had no idea just how gross. When my two precious little bundles of joy came home I was ready, I had picked out all natural wipes that were going to perfectly clean their little bums and bodies when needed. It was going to be great! Until, it wasn’t. They shredded, they irritated their skin, and they really didn’t smell all that great. I returned them all, and have been on the hunt for the perfect wipe since.
WaterWipes offered to send us some of their wipes to try, and of course I jumped at the chance. WaterWipes, the world’s purest baby wipe are chemical free, and made with just two simple ingredients: Water and Grapefruit Seed Extract.
The packages arrived with a happy smiling baby on the top.
I wasted no time in putting them to work, and decided to give Jon some avocado. I will tell you these wipes were up to the job!
The WaterWipes did an AMAZING job. Not just on the baby, but also on his clothing and the Bumbo he was sitting in. The wipes themselves are thick, and there were no shredding issues as I pulled them out of the pack!
Over the last week I’ve used the wipes on bums, faces, hands, the carpet, the dog (don’t ask) and the wood floor. The wipes have tackled every job with ease! In fact the pack has been living on the coffee table in the living room so they are easy to grab for just about every mess.
The wipes themselves are thick, large (each wipe is 6.4 X 7.3 inches) and smell really great. They don’t have a real perfume-y scent, but rather just smell super clean! After wiping baby (or yourself!) there is no sticky residue. The wipes don’t have any sort of pattern on them like many of the others that I have tried. They do however have a texture to them that “grabs” at anything you are wiping, which helped me use less wipes!
WaterWipes do have a few special rules because of their lack of chemicals. They need to be used within 30 days of opening. They also shouldn’t be moved to a hard pack, but rather left in the pack they come in. I did have a few issues with this. I found that sticky on the re-closable flap started to lose it’s stick at the end, and in an effort to hold a screaming baby, and pull out a wipe at the same time I ripped the package.
Waterwipes were developed by parents, for parents and are the only wipes to be approved by Allergy UK. As a result 97% of midwives believe that WaterWipes are suitable to be used on the skin of newborn babies.
