Dayton St., 262-2399, http://www.geologymuseum.org/ (Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.) —Besides its extensive mineral, rock and fossil collections behind glass, kids can touch rocks from a time when there were volcanoes in Wisconsin, see rocks and minerals that glow, and stand under huge mastodon tusks. The Memorial Union Terrace
They always seem to have something fun going on there – music, Babcock ice cream, etc and there is no charge! Last time we went there were FREE crafts, a GIANT inflatable Bucky, Balloon animals and an outdoor brat stand (not FREE). Look for the big orange chair and turn it into a photo-op like we did with Miss Sarah and the peanut of Ashley from Coupons for Wisconsin already this summer! 🙂
