HyVee had their “2 hour sale” Tuesday and I hit it with my buddy Kelley.
It wasn’t very good this time as a lot of items were either store brand or had no discount and they added fuel perks.
I spent $27.37 and got:
- 2 – 24 packs of water for the emergency prep pile
- 5 – boxes saltines
- 4 bottles Tide Laundry Detergent – almost a year supply here
- 2 bags potato chips (a VERY rare item in this house)
- 2 bricks cream cheese
- 1 gallon milk
- 2 bags sugar – baking!
- few pounds Minuellos
So, I stopped at Aldi today and got:
- Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
- French Baguette
- 2 Grapefruit
- 12 yogurt
- can corn-*
- can carrots-*
*I am going to make my Autumn Chowder and needed a few things…and have already turned that Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast into 3 freezer crock pot meals.
I plan to go back to HyVee on Friday for their 2 Day sale and get 20 Hunt’s Canned Pasta Sauce as it’s a stock up deal at $0.58.
$100 Monthly Budget
- -$27.37 HyVee
- -$25.29 Aldi
$47.34 to go Thanks goodness it is a short month!
I see Autumn Chowder, Bacon Mini Quiche Cups, “not so basic” grilled cheese, Cobb Salad, Cheese Fondu and more on my list to make for dinner this month. Yum!
I do get to do a post on Copps new Health Tag program and have to spend $45 there to get things for a recipe, I can’t see paying that much for what I have in mind, LOL! Still – that is THEIR budget, not MY budget.
I also have that FREE $60 gift card to Fresh Madison Market to use yet — I have yet to step into their store!
How is your budget shaping up for the month?
