Everyone knows that produce is seasonal…if you have taken my Coupon Clipping 101 class you have heard me talk about pantry items being seasonal too! In March I covered the Frozen Food Jackpot at Target, we chatted about Easter Clearance items in April, BBQ supplies in May/June, July brought the Ice Cream items, then came the back to school rush…
We know it’s smart to wait until a product is on sale and then stock up!
The idea is to create a stockpile that will last you 3-12 months, or until the product again reaches its lowest price. (Not that you can do that with fresh produce unless your process it!)
Convenience/Packaged Foods are seasonal just like produce! Every month we have new things to look for. Here is what is “hot” for March – keep your eyes out for the sales and have your coupons ready.
March is National Frozen Food Month!
It’s the time to find big deals and coupons on things that live happily in your freezer, everything from frozen pizzas to “TV dinners” to ice cream novelties. It’s a GREAT time to get frozen fruits and veggies along with deals on chest freezers.
Obviously it is St Patrick’s Day —
This means a few deals on Corned Beef (think SUPER easy crock pot meal and then corned beef ‘n cabbage soup!
We also have EASTER in March this year!
Hams, and all the basic staples for baking those yummy treats! Get your sugar NOW as it won’t be on “sale” again until after labor day! Trust me – S’mores still taste yummy when you melt a little bunny marshmallow on your stick! You will also see deals on Ham and Eggs.
***Make sure you hit that post holiday clearance! Last year I scored on stuff for the Easter Basket THIS year – things that wouldn’t perish like toys, etc (you can see it here). I also got a few Easter Decor items and school/educational supplies.
I hope this helps you know what to keep and eye out for!
