Yesterday was a fun day here – after church we headed to a birthday party and then followed that with dinner with our new pastor, his family and a few other families from our church.
The birthday party was for a fellow 5 year old and in a Hello Kitty theme – SUPER cute! They made kitty head bands with the pink bow on one ear, decorated their loot bags, and the cakes were ADORABLE! (When she gets the pictures up, I will add them to this post!)
So, the candles were lit, song sung and candles blown out. Then came the announcement that Miss Sarah had a special song to sing for the birthday girl.
My husband and I looked at each other with the ??? in our eyes, trying to figure out WHAT song was the “special song”. Keep in mind that this room has about a dozen kids and about 40 adults….and our daughter was now standing on a chair and beginning to sing….
The National Anthem.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA……..seriously, I almost wet myself laughing.
She nailed it. They all applauded and she got a few whistles. She glowed.
It is very clear – we have a little performer.
High school musicals flashed before my eyes… and thoughts of Broadway or Hollywood…. I wonder if she could pull down the same kind of money as Sandra Bullock or Julia Roberts?
It’s so fun to glimpse into the future of your child and see some of the possiblities!
Guess what she wanted to do at the Pastor’s house as we were getting ready to eat dinner? (It didn’t help that the prayer before dinner was a song…). I figured it would be the same song as earlier in the day and redirected her attention span at the moment…
