I’ll be one smart cookie!
It’s simply one of our M&M cookies that we made this weekend, wrapped in waxed paper and tied with curling ribbon. I tucked it into our “message folder” in the school binder.
I saw a more elaborate version of this here.
We have been working with Miss Sarah’s teacher on an Individual Educational Program (IEP) as she is further ahead than her class mates on many subjects. She is 5 and at a 3rd grade reading level, 4th grade geography, 2nd grade math and 2nd grade science. Actually, they had only tested her reading and have now scheduled her for MAP testing to see where she “officially” lies in the other areas.
(I have a month’s worth of posts on little things I have done with her at home that led to this — it will be a Wednesday series, starting tomorrow.)
Her teacher has been amazing as we have worked our way through things so far and instigated a meeting with the “care” team at school, which included everyone from the Principal to the Social Worker. I still find it amazing that seven other adults would carve time out of their busy schedules for just one child…I think I need to bring a plate of cookies to the next meeting!
