It’s time for the hot summer days and the need for fun frozen treats. Zoku comes to the rescue and lets us make a version that has no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors.
Zoku Classic Pop Molds makes for beyond easy treats. With 1 Classic Pop Mold, 6 Removable Molds, and 6 Sticks with Drip Guards you can whip up tasty pops in a snap! Each mold holds about 3.1 fl. oz. and is both BPA and phthalate free. Each of the removable molds has a fill line for you to know when to stop adding chilled juice before you insert the sticks. Freeze the molds for approximately 6 hours then pull out pop in mold & rinse under hot water for 30-60 seconds. You can then pull the removable mold from frozen pop and let your kids rip into them like a monkey on a cupcake!
I like to use Newman’s Own juice or something like V8 Fusion so the finished result is healthier. I actually water it down a bit so it’s 1/3 water and 2/3 juice and ends up being lower in sugar. If you buy the “lite” juice, they cut it 50/50 with water and then add fake sugars to it.
Now, don’t just pop these babies in the dishwasher, make sure you hand wash and reload in the freezer. I guarantee you that once you start making your own popsicles, they will groan at anything they see coming out of a store box.
Check out ZOKU for yourself!
