“Zoomer Dino is a wild pet dinosaur who loves to play.”
Seriously the best statement ever from our pals at Spin Master! This little guy “roars, chomps, spins” and has an amazing personality (meaning don’t get him mad, wink wink), he even has color changing eyes to let you know what mood he is in.
Moods and Colors:
- Green means he is happy.
- Blue means curious.
- Purple means he is in gesture command mode and is ready for you to play.
- Red means he is angry, Usually snapping and roaring.
- Yellow is when you are using the remote control for more distance play.
- Orange means Dino needs to sleep and recharge his Battery.
Right now my kids are more interested in playing with him via remote but their dad was sure having fun in the gesture command mode. The best thing is that this dino has True Balance Technology and he can go on any surface. We tested “Boomer” named “Baby” (here at our house) on the bare wood floor, a tight knit carpet (which is most of our upstairs), loose knit carpet (our down stairs) and even the bathroom shag (seriously don’t ask why he was in the bathroom I am still perplexed by this). My kids favorite feature is that “Baby” FARTS, yes you read that right, the dino farts and my boys find it HILARIOUS, I mean roll on the floor, side aching HILARIOUS! As you can see all 4 of my boys are loving dino.
Pros- This Dino is pretty darn cool and for a house that can’t have real pets due to a kiddo with pretty horrible pet dander issues this dino sure makes up for a real one, and a major plus is no cleaning up after it and it won’t die if we forget to feed it. I love that it works on all surfaces. I was nervous when we first got it about whether we would get full potential out of this toy or will it be forever bound to be under foot in the kitchen and dining room. I am definitely glad that was not the case. He even sits in the rocking chair and watches TV with us.
My youngest loves to stick his fingers in the dino’s mouth, it is great that it one doesn’t break the dino doing this and that it doesn’t hurt my son either. He loves to look at me and say “Look Mom, Baby is eating my hand.”
Cons- Though he does have a pretty good life span (battery span) I wish he would go longer but I understand that he has to be charged. I have tried to time his battery life but he is off and on the charger so much here that I always find myself seeing him in the middle of his charge. Keep in mind that I do have four boys under the age of 8….and he was in high demand, lol.
Tip: He needs 3 AAA batteries for his remote, I know this is a minor thing but when we first got our dino “Baby”, this mama was out, I mean OUT of Batteries, you name the size we did not have any. We had a bit of a stressful time between when we opened the box and when he was fully playable.
All in all the Zoomer Dino is a great toy he will make an amazing gift for your special Dino Lover!
